When Mr de Coninck (in 1891) wrote the Standard for a Griffon Barbet d'Arrêt, the Barbet had become a breed from that day on.It was a pointing dog that went to water and loved it. It was in the 7th group with gun dogs and pointing dogs.

This document was handwritten in 1935 or so by Docteur Vincenti...
