Premier Standard Barbet d'arrêt:1886

The first standard for the barbet d'Arrêt was written in 1891 and according to the club president in a conversation in December 2012, it has "hardly" changed since then.
Most documents when citing the Barbet mention that fact.



We can therefore safely conclude that the dogs looked similar to the ones below.

HAIR: Long, woolly and curly; can form strands/ mèches. The coat is furnished, covering the whole body in a natural state.
